The Room
by a former Julian Housing resident

Thanks for the room which I leave in the morning and come back to in the evening.

Thanks for the electric kettle ~ (masses of tea) and the central heating and the bed and the chair.

Warm and dry and not packing out to the ringroad every night.

And also there is the sash window which lets the spring in and the fresh air and the garden and the wind at night time.

It is an old house which I like which sometimes creaks but it has a bathroom with lots of hot water.

A toe of the edge of Oxford.

A place from which I must move onto somewhere else.

A room to sleep in and think about the future in.

A sort of place on the way through.
