Stages through Julian Housing
Julian Housing is a place where people can gain the knowledge and skills that they will need to maintain independent accommodation successfully for the long term.
Time spent at Julian Housing is divided into four ‘Stages’. These Stages are designed to provide focussed support and momentum to a person’s stay, as well as making the progress necessary for moving on to independent living consistent and transparent for all.
Why Stages?
Everyone at Julian Housing is an individual. Each person comes with a unique set of support needs, aspirations, and things that they wish to achieve during their stay.
However, one unifying issue for residents is how to move on to independent accommodation. The Stages respond to this by providing a clear ‘route map’ of the basic steps necessary for successful tenancy sustainment. The Stages provide a step-by-step guide to the essential skills required to manage a tenancy and keep it!
Stages route map
What is the focus of each Stage?
- Stage 1 Settling in and getting into a basic routine
- Stage 2 Expanding activities, support and social networks
- Stage 3 Preparing for moving on
- Stage 4 Ready to move on
The Stages Course
To ensure that everyone can get the most out of the Stages through Julian Housing, each resident attends a bespoke Stages course, which is facilitated by the Support Team. Once residents are familiar with the Stages themselves, there is the opportunity to become involved in delivering the course to new residents.
Feedback
The Stages are an integral part of the support offered at Julian Housing; feedback from residents has been consistently positive!
