No Second Night Out approach (NSNO)
The Oxford Street Population Outreach Team (Oxford SPOT), managed by St Mungo’s Broadway, is based at O’Hanlon House and work in partnership with OxHoP to support people rough sleeping to move away from the streets for good.
Oxford SPOT staff respond to referrals of rough sleepers and, where appropriate, refer those found rough sleeping to O’Hanlon House to access day services, the Sit-Up Service and/or an assessment bed.
Staff here help you work through the bad things in your life… there’s always hope!

Oxford SPOT works on the principles of the No Second Night Out (NSNO) model, with a clear message that sleeping rough is not an option, is harmful to health and, at worst, can be life-threatening.
NSNO was launched in Oxford in July 2012 and provides a rapid response, a place of safety for a quick assessment, access to emergency accommodation and if appropriate, reconnection for clients to access accommodation in an area they have a local connection, family and friends, work or other links.
Oxford SPOT staff complete a full assessment of clients’ needs and then look to offer people an option. Oxford SPOT work with OxHoP to operate what’s called a Sit-Up Service, which is emergency shelter for rough sleepers. This is a shared provision at O’Hanlon House.
If you are concerned about someone sleeping rough in Oxford, please contact the national referral service StreetLink via their website or on 0300 500 0914 and help connect them with local services, such as the Oxford SPOT team.
You can contact Oxford SPOT staff directly on 01865 304 611 / 01865 304604 or email [email protected].
